How to Find Job and Skills Videos

Ferguson's Career Guidance Center includes many job and skills videos, which are searchable. You can also browse for videos on the site. Ferguson's also has two new video series: Career Q&A and Career Tips videos. For more information on those, see How to Find Career Q&A Videos and How to Find Career Tips Videos.

To search for videos:

Videos are included in the general Ferguson's search. If you do a search and the search result set includes videos, "Video" will appear in the list of result types on the right of the results page (under "Narrow Results by Type"). To filter results to only show videos, you can select the Video checkbox under "Narrow Results by Type". Also, each item in search results includes the result type in gray text.

If you prefer, you can use Advanced Site Search to limit a particular search to videos in advance. Go to the Advanced Search page, select the "Video" checkbox in the "Narrow Results by Type" section, enter your search term(s) in the search field, and then click the Search button.

To browse for videos:

  1. Click "Explore Industries & Careers" on the top navigation bar and then select "Industry Overviews and Profession Profiles" on the drop-down menu, or click "Launch Your Career" on the top navigation bar and then select "Career Skills" on the drop-down menu.
  2. In the Browse Videos box on the right, click the "More" link to go to the Video Gallery page.
  3. You can use the drop-down menu at the top of the gallery page to switch among All Videos, Job Videos, and Skills Videos.
  4. To open a particular video page, click on the video image on the gallery page.
